On our second meeting, we watched '17 again' and it was exciting when all of us knew that it was Zac Efron's film. So then, we agreed to discuss the film on our third meeting. It was so fun to share our feeling and thought about the film we watched.
"This movie was much better than I expected. I am not the target demographic, but still enjoyed it! No Oscar performances, but it is fun and does what a movie should do... it entertains."
" I enjoyed more than I thought I would that's for sure. Had me laugh out loud quite a bit. With ideas along the lines of Back to the future, 13 going on 30 although in reverse it creates some scenes that are funny. It has a decent storyline keeping it altogether as well. Give it a try, you might be surprised! "
" A lot of great messages in this film about not conforming to the ways that others want you to & the bumps that happen along the way. In my opinion this is Zac Efron's best movie & by the looks of Charlie St. Cloud & this movie, Zac Efron's success will continue. Leslie Mann, Sterling Knight, Thomas Lennon, Matthew Perry & Michelle Trachtenberg were amazing as well. A great movie for the loving and adorable soul. :) :) :) :) :) "'17 again' relives an age-old movie theme.
Who wouldn't want to be a teenager once more? Or turn into hot teen star Zac Efron? That, at least, is what happens in the new film " 17 Again," opening Friday, in which Matthew Perry accidentally falls into a river, emerges in Efron's body, and is miraculously whisked back to his high school years, where he blew off basketball stardom to run away with his pregnant girlfriend. Will Perry/Efron get to rectify the mistakes he made as a kid? Or will he learn that maybe his 30-something life isn't so bad after all?
The becoming-a-teenager-again story line is "a reoccurring theme [in movies]," says "17 Again" director Burr Steers. "It's one of those themes that people latch onto, the idea you can go back to that pivotal moment in your life, and that incident or accident that changed our lives."
Well, OK, but maybe the thought of zits, raging hormones and college-admission tests is not all that appealing. "People remember the best parts of their teen years," admits Steers, "but the reality is it's a tense time, with incredible pressures on you. That's the reality."
Yet, there's little doubt that going back to the years of our youth, to recapture a sense of innocence, or settle long-festering emotional scores, is one of those fantasies everyone has had. Which is why the whole older-person-in-young-body (or vice versa) thing has been a movie staple for quite some time.
There were a lot of good values that we can get from this movie. For example, love the life we live. Love the people around us. There always a reason on something that happened on us. Whatever it is, we have to take the positive side with us. We also have to try to solve our problem what we can. We can seek for others opinion or help in order to solve our problem. But in the end, we are the one that have to take the responsibility to make the decision that might change our future life at all. So, before we make the decision, think twice or more the good and bad things that might happened after that. Do not only follow your heart said because it might not true all the time. This movie was humorously enjoyable. The movie was perfectly rated, and perhaps only the older ones would truly benefit from the movie's themes of love, marriage and regret. We really do recommend this movie and please take the good messages. Enjoy the movie ;)))
